OSHKOSH, Wis. — Sturgeon spearers are nearing the cap on the upriver lakes for the season.
The number of adult female sturgeon is just six away from the 90-percent trigger. That could be reached on Saturday, which would mean a season closure on Monday.
The biggest fish harvested on Saturday was a 110-pound, 72-inch sturgeon brought up by Timothy Metz of Menasha.
