STURGEON BAY (NBC 26) -- Sturgeon Bay Police announced a citation in connection with the spray painting of the Door County Republican Party Headquarters this past weekend.
The building was spray painted in Sturgeon Bay early Sunday morning, police said. On Tuesday, police posted a follow-up on the department's Facebook page, saying a 19-year-old Sturgeon Bay man was was issued a misdemeanor citation for criminal damage to property.
Sturgeon Bay Police said investigators tracked him down after following up with a witness and developing other key pieces of information as the investigation unfolded.
Police didn't identify the man. He's due in court in October.
