FOX CITIES (NBC 26) -- The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announced a speed limit increase with the end of construction in the area.

The speed limit will increase to 65 miles per hour (mph) between County CB and Oneida Street on eastbound US 10/northbound WIS 441 as well as westbound US 10/southbound WIS 441.

WisDOT said the speed limit increase is due to the completion of major construction in the area that is part of the WIS 441 Tri-County Expansion Project.

Drivers should note that the speed limit change will not be implemented until the "65 mph" speed limit signs are posted. The WisDOT says the signs will not be posted until weather conditions are favorable and that drivers should use caution as the posted speed limits may be "too fast for conditions" during inclement weather.
