WISCONSIN -- The state of Wisconsin is launching a new online tool to help with school safety concerns.

The new free, “Speak Up, Speak Out” resource center is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. It is designed to help prevent school violence.

"A lot of students don't encounter as many trusted adults as they would in normal circumstances. This gives students an opportunity to have someone they can contact if they have a school safety concern,” said Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul.

If students, parents, or school staff have any school safety concerns, they can submit it through the "Speak Up, Speak Out" website, through a mobile phone application, or their toll-free number.

The number is 1-800-MY-SUSO-1 (1-800-697-8776), and you can download the app by clicking here.

Resource center staff will then review the concerns and work with school administration, local law enforcement, and counselors to help. solve the issue.

According to a press release from the Wisconsin DOJ, the resource center will also be able to "deploy critical incident response teams if a school is experiencing a critical incident; provide a threat assessment consultation for school staff and law enforcement; or provide general school safety guidance including training, safety planning, and other topics."
