3 taken to hospital after fire at assisted living facility in Allouez

ALLOUEZ (NBC 26) -- Three people were taken to the hospital after a small fire broke out at an assisted-living facility in Allouez.

Heavy smoke and flames were reported around 4:30 Friday evening at Bishop's Court assisted living facility at 289 E St. Joseph Street.

According to the Green Bay Fire Department, the three victims are being treated for smoke inhalation. A total of 38 people were evacuated.

Fire crews tell NBC 26 several people have been displaced but most of the residents were able to return to their rooms. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
