DENMARK, Wis. (NBC 26) — S Home Creations is hosting a holiday market with local homemade craft vendors in their newly expanded Denmark shop on Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

After Jeni Snell began making affordable home decor for her friends and family, her husband Ian quit his job to take the company full-time. They traveled the country with family going from craft show to craft show, selling their products before settling back in Northeast Wisconsin.

"After we had done all the different craft shows across the country, we saw how amazing all the different artisans are, and the wonderful people, and the opportunities to showcase other small businesses," Jeni Snell said. "So we've kind of always had in the back of our head that we wanted to do something like this."

With seven years in business under their belt, the Snells intend to share the wealth of their brick and mortar space by opening their storefront to other local homemade vendors in an event that allows small businesses to team up against the big box retailers during the holiday season, a fiercely competitive time.

"People go to Walmart every day," Ian Snell said. "They go to these big stores every day for their other needs, they pick up their items. It's a good opportunity to get in front of more people, and the more eyes that see them, they spread the word. It's a great opportunity."

The holiday market will feature free photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., as well as free kids crafts and hot chocolate. At the time of publication, S Home Creations is still accepting applications from potential vendors for the market.

"It's great to support these small local businesses," Jeni Snell said. "Not just us, but any of them that you see. They're hardworking individuals that are putting their blood, sweat, and tears – and money – into these things trying to provide for their little families."
