Shopko's distribution center closing, creating more layoffs

DEPERE, Wis. — Due to Shopko's bankruptcy, a different company now says they're laying off more than 200 workers.

Wisconsin's Department of Workforce Development published a layoff notice from Spectrum America Supply Chain Solutions Inc. on Thursday. The notice states that Shopko was the company's sole customer.

As a result of Shopko's liquidation, Spectrum America says it will stop operations at its DePere location and will layoff a total of 225 employees beginning May 20.

According to its website, operates Spectrum America runs distribution centers and transportation services for Shopko.
