SHAWANO COUNTY (NBC 26) -- While some fairs in Wisconsin have canceled due to coronavirus, the Shawano County Fair announced Tuesday that it will move forward as planned.
Fair organizers said on Facebook a board meeting held Monday night ultimately decided the fair would move forward.
Organizers are still working out the details on how exactly the fair will function amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 Shawano County Fair will have a different look, organizers say. Activities such as bingo will not happen at the fair this year.
Organizers say they will have a plan in place to open safely, once they have input from vendors and non-profits about opening stands this year.
"Safety is our prime concern, and we want to talk with all parties involved in this process," a Facebook post from the fair says.
As of June 15, the Shawano County Fair is slated for the beginning of September.
