SHAWANO COUNTY (NBC 26) -- Steve Verg, one of four people injured in an explosion in Shawano County on Monday, has now died from his injuries.
The Shawano County Sheriff confirmed Verg's death Wednesday afternoon. 62-year-old Steve Verg was the owner of the property that exploded in the Town of Grant on Monday. The other people injured have not been identified and their is no word on the extent of their injuries.
The explosion happened just off of County Road M and Verg Road in the Town of Grant at around 4 p.m Monday. Following the explosion, all four people were transported by an ambulance or a helicopter to burn centers according to investigators.
In a phone call with NBC 26, the Sheriff said his office believes the explosion appears to be propane related. To dispel rumors, the Sheriff said he does not believe the explosion was related to drugs in any way. The exact cause, however, has not been officially determined yet, as the State Fire Marshal continues to investigate what happened.
