FISH CREEK — A damaged sewer line coming from the golf course clubhouse caused a spill within Peninsula State Park, the Wisconsin DNR said Wednesday.
According to the DNR, the spill was along Crystal Springs Road within the park. The DNR said Crystal Springs Road borders Peninsula State Park and has a series of private residences.
The spill is contained. While the clubhouse at the golf course is closed, the DNR said the course itself is still open for public use. An outside contractor will clean up the spill once the sewer pipe is repaired.
Homeowners along Crystal Springs Road are advised to avoid drinking or cooking with well water unless it has been boiled for at least one minute.
If well owners notice a change in color, odor or taste of their water, they should stop drinking it or cooking with it and contact DNR immediately at 920-360-2688.
