Several robberies reported near UW-Oshkosh campus

OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- Oshkosh Police is investigating several robberies reported near the residential area surrounding the UW Oshkosh campus.

According to police, two of the reported cases (October 19 and November 2), one a robbery and one an attempted robbery, involved suspects meeting their victims through a dating app. In both cases, the victims were approached by several teenagers who either robbed them or tried to rob them. Both victims in these cases were assaulted and reported minor injuries. No weapons were involved, police say.

Two other cases (October 27 and October 29) involved victims who were walking alone in a residential area when police say they were approached by several teenagers who robbed/attempted to rob them. Police say victims in these cases were also physically assaulted and reported minor injuries. Again, no weapons were involved.

Police say the suspects are described as a group of male African American teenagers.

11/02/2019 at approximately 8:29 PM in the 700 Block of Cherry St. (attempted robbery)

10/29/2019 at approximately 8:38 PM in the 400 Block of Scott Ave.

10/27/2019 at approximately 8:30 PM near Cherry St/ Scott Ave. (attempted robbery)

10/19/2019 at approximately 7:35 PM in the 1200 Block of Kentucky St
