GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- After 20 years with NBC 26, Stacy Engebretson is saying goodbye to the news business.

Stacy is a two-time Emmy award-winning journalist who most recently anchored NBC 26 Live at 5:00 and previously anchored NBC 26 at 6:00 and 10:00. She also served as NBC 26's Assistant News Director.

When she joined the NBC 26 team in 2000, it was evident that Stacy was going to make her mark on the Green Bay/Fox Cities market. Coming to NBC 26 after working in Wausau, she quickly made a name for herself with her on-air presence.

Born in Bloomington, Minnesota, Stacy graduated cum laude from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Mass Communications.

Stacy also worked as an anchor/reporter for WAOW-TV in Wausau and KSAX-TV in Alexandria, MN.

She is married with three daughters.

During her final newscast with NBC 26, Stacy shared this message with the viewers:

Today is a bittersweet day. After nearly 20 years of bringing you the news on NBC 26, this is my last newscast.

The decision was a difficult one, but a new and exciting opportunity awaits that will allow me to spend more time with my husband and three beautiful daughters, now ages ten, eight and four.

I want to thank you for inviting me into your living room every night over the past two decades, whether it was through your television or for a sit-down interview.

You shared your joy with me, your pain, your victories and frustrations. Thank you for trusting me to tell your stories.

I strived everyday to be fair, factual, ethical and empathetic. I wanted to give you a voice, educate you on the issues and help spark change. Our community is incredible, but I always want us to be even better.

To my NBC 26 family, the hardest working team in television, I am in awe of what you accomplish everyday. Your dedication and drive for accuracy and compelling storytelling is impressive and inspiring. You're the best of the best, and I will miss you all dearly.

To our viewers, thank you for embracing that young reporter who arrived here back in 2000. I'm forever grateful for your loyal viewership all these years, the time we shared together and the special relationships we built.

It was an honor and a privilege.

I hope I served you well.

Stacy and her family will be staying in Northeast Wisconsin and the community they love. She plans to continue working with the many nonprofit organizations that she developed relationships with through her NBC26 Cares series.
