APPLETON, Wis (NBC 26) -- The Greater Fox Cities Area Habitat for Humanity in Appleton needs your help. The organization is seeking volunteers to help revitalize properties in historic downtown Appleton in this year's Rock the Block event.
The event kicks off September 10 and runs through September 12.
"With all the families, we've done over 430 projects. 430 projects since we've started in 2015. Those are hundreds of families that have been impacted in a positive way that are now living in homes that don't have mold, living in homes that don't have leaky windows even in the winter, living in homes that have a problem of led and with all the repairs. So just the impact of this is tremendous," says Ryan Roth, Director of the event.
According to The Greater Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity, Rock the Block takes place in targeted neighborhoods focusing on exterior home repair and preservation projects for low-income homeowners, and community projects to improve and beautify the neighborhood surrounding the homes.
The program hopes to bring people together to improve the quality of life in targeted neighborhoods.
