APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) -- Each year the Fox Cities Habitat for Humanity hosts roughly two 'Rock the Block' events that focus on bringing the community together to build up a community as a whole.

Typically these community-wide events bring roughly 200 people together to help volunteer with the projects. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, organizers have had to slim the volunteer list down to a much smaller crew. There will be about 40 people volunteering with this week's Rock the Block event.

Volunteers will complete 900 volunteer hours over completing projects in the Appleton Historic Central District.

These projects would not be possible without volunteers and donated funds. The Rock the Block event has a fundraising goal of $75,000. Organizers tell us they're about halfway to their goal and greatly appreciate the support from the public.
