GREEN BAY (NBC 26) — Pregnant women across the country, including here in Wisconsin are being faced with the same difficult question and that’s whether they will decide to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

“Being a mom is awesome, I love it. I’ve always loved it,” said Leah Cramer, a Green Bay mother of a two-year-old boy and who has another along the way.

Soon, Cramer and Stephanie Gutierrez will welcome new children into the world.

“I am over halfway through my pregnancy, I am 23 weeks pregnant", said Stephanie Gutierrez, a Stevens Point mother of a toddler and who also another along the way.

“I’m 26 weeks pregnant now”, Cramer said.

But these moms will tell you, it's not always easy nor is the big decision some of them face about receiving the vaccine.

"My gut is leaning towards a no", Cramer said.

"Me probably not because I have a history of complicated pregnancies," Gutierrez said.

While the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has not yet issued any warnings, they do say moms should discuss with their doctors.

"In general, I'm all for vaccines. Me and my son are both fully vaccinated. However, when speaking with my Obgyn two months ago when the vaccine first came out, she did not recommend anyone who was pregnant to get the vaccine at the time. And from speaking with her recently, she has not changed her opinion", Gutierrez said.

Now what if they weren't pregnant?

Gutierrez said she'd still probably wait a while too.

But Cramer who is a high school teacher said she'd consider it.

"If I wasn't pregnant I probably would. Added exposure of being around kids who are around kids and other places, it would put my mind at ease a little if I did get it", Cramer said.
