A representative for WPS and We Energies said in an email that this weekend's storms caused some of the worst damage to their networks in the past 20 years.
About 80,000 WPS and 49,000 We Energies Fox Valley customers are currently without power.
"As an indication of the ferocity of these storms, the same lines knocked out power to more than a half-million customers in Michigan this weekend," the email stated.
Some customers are expected to be without power for multiple days.
