Police: Five people arrested in Manitowoc meth lab bust

MANITOWOC (NBC 26) — Manitowoc Police announced five people are under arrest after authorities busted an apparent meth lab.

According to Manitowoc Police, on May 26, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the 1000 block of South 16th Street. The search warrant was based on tips and law enforcement investigation which showed that there was suspected drug dealing and manufacturing happening within an address in that area.

During surveillance, before the warrant execution, police said a suspect was observed leaving the suspected residence and discarding a plastic bag into an area dumpster. Upon further inspection, police said the bag contained improvised utensils believed to have recently been used to manufacture methamphetamine.

Police said Nicholas J. Bevan, was taken into custody and taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, knowingly soliciting, directing or using another person to purchase pseudoephedrine and intentionally dispose of methamphetamine waste.

Located within the dumpster were multiple discarded plastic bags containing similar type improvised utensils believed to have been used to manufacture methamphetamine, police said.

A search warrant was executed at a residence in the 1000 block of South 16th Street, where the methamphetamine manufacturing was believed to have occurred. Items were located within the address that were also believed to have been used in the manufacturing process.

Due to the suspected hazardous waste involved in the manufacturing process, police said the Division of Criminal Investigation – Clandestine Laboratory Team was contacted to respond. Also, due to the flammability of the combined chemicals involved in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, the Manitowoc Fire Department and EMS stood by during the entire investigation process.

Manitowoc Police said the investigation also led to the arrest of four other people: Anthony J. Carter was arrested for maintaining a drug trafficking place, one count of purchasing pseudoephedrine for another with intent / facilitating another person manufacturing of methamphetamine, eight counts of felony bail jumping and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Sarah N.S. Gunn was arrested on one count of purchasing pseudoephedrine for another with intent / facilitating another person manufacturing of methamphetamine and five counts of felony bail jumping.

Shannon A. Rodgers was arrested on six counts of purchasing pseudoephedrine for another with intent / facilitate another person manufacturing of methamphetamine.

Brent N.A. Boeldt was arrested for maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of drug paraphernalia and five counts of felony bail jumping.
