Plows prepared to tackle new snowfall

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. — Nearly 50 plow trucks are ready to combat the snow.

Brown County Public Works says their main targets are Interstates 43, 41 and 172.

Officials ask that drivers move over for plow trucks and give them some space.

The Brown County Public Works Department says they've already had a couple people run into their plows this year.

"Our trucks are very tough. Stay away from them, that's the message that you have, is just stay away from them,” says Brown County Public Works Director Paul Fontecchio. “Be patient - that extra 30 seconds isn't going to kill you."

Local drivers say not to rush, drive slowly and prepare for your travel time to be a little longer than usual.

"Trucks are big and they do a lot of damage,” says local driver Tim Randall. “If you want to take a chance on wrecking your vehicle and getting hurt or killed, that's not something I would do."

If you don't have to be out on the roads, stay off them. Public Works says that’s the best way to avoid an accident and let the snow plows do their job.
