Person shot in Waushara County hunting incident

WAUSHARA COUNTY (NBC 26) -- A person was shot in a hunting incident last week, according to the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff's Office said a 911 call came in Thursday to report a person had been shot in a hunting incident near the intersection of Czech Avenue and 7th Court in the town of Coloma.

The Waushara County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Natural Resources, Waushara County EMS and Coloma Rescue responded to the scene.

The Sheriff's Office said in a news release issued Monday that the victim had non-life threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office said both the suspect and the victim are not from the area.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting is still under investigation by the Waushara County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin DNR.
