Man killed after ATV crashes and burns in Marinette County

MARINETTE COUNTY — The Marinette County Sheriff says a man died after the ATV he was riding crashed and burned.

A news release from the Sheriff says dispatch first got a call around 7:43 a.m. Saturday of a burned 4-Wheeler and a male victim who was reported dead. The crash was reported on Town Road #41, which is a two rut road to the Menominee River directly east of the intersection of County G and State Highway 180.

The Sheriff says the ATV was heading eastbound from Highway 180 when it rolled over and ended upright. According to the Sheriff's news release, the ATV also burned and the victim was partially under the wreckage.

On Sunday, the man was identified as 49-year-old William P. Doyen Jr. of De Pere.

The crash is still under investigation.
