GREEN BAY — All over the Green Bay area, there are trees and power lines down.

Many people say they didn't expect a storm of that magnitude to hit Saturday morning. They didn't think that this would almost be worse than what was forecast.

Many people's yards are filled with debris as a storm that brought damaging winds swept through the green bay area. Here are some residents who recalled what happened.

"Well I heard just a pretty large crack, and thought it was lighting at first,” said Allouez resident Henry Wied. “But then I looked outside and saw the tree down and it really landed in the perfect place, because it didn't land that way towards our neighbors or on our actual house."

With so much debris across the area many residents say they don't know when the power will come back on or how soon the debris will be cleaned up.

Neighbors living at the intersection of Howard and Hazel in Green Bay say they were shocked by the damage from Friday night’s storm.

Amy Jo Tetzner and her daughter spent their morning picking up branches off their lawn and cleaning up. She says they were sitting on their back porch last night when wind and rain came out of nowhere. Tetzner says she didn't hear any trees falling at first.

"When it kind of died down a little bit, that's when we really started hearing big cracks,” said Tetzner. “We had a strike last night and I’ve never heard anything of that magnitude."

Tetzner says she woke up to the sound of green bay parks, recreation and forestry trucks. She said she was shocked to see all the damage in her neighborhood caused by the storm.

Trees fell on some of her neighbors' homes, destroying parts of them. Tetzner says she feels lucky the tree outside her home stayed put.
