GREEN BAY (NBC26) — It's going to be a busy day for the Green Bay Packers as they kick off their annual community blood drive.
You can help tackle the ongoing need for blood by donating between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. today at Lambeau Field's Johnsonville Tailgate Village. Free parking will be available in lot 4 off Lombardi Avenue.
Donors of all types are needed, but platelet donors and Type O donors are in the highest demand.
“Our heartfelt thanks go out to the Green Bay Packers and the community for coming out and rolling up a sleeve to give,” says Rebecca Rockhill, Executive Director for the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the American Red Cross. “Just like on the field, it’s teamwork that saves lives. The need for blood is constant, and together, we’re helping to keep the community’s blood supply strong and get blood to the hospitals that need it.”
Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. All donors will receive a free giveaway item, while supplies last, and can enter a raffle for a chance to win prizes from the Packers.
