GREEN BAY, Wis. — On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers announced they will match a community fundraising effort of $250,000 to help Green Bay restore the beach at Bay Beach.
According to the City of Green Bay, the funding will help create 1,000 linear feet of a new sand swimming beach, a lit waterfront trail, boardwalk with seating, a bathhouse with concession stand, and the expansion of the parking lot.
The City of Green Bay is asking the public for donations for the funding to complete the project. The city says community donations will help bring back the beach without utilizing any tax payer funding.
