Cow, calf lost in Sheboygan Co. barn fire

SHEBOYGAN CO. (NBC 26) -- A cow and calf passed away due to a barn fire in Sheboygan County around 1:50 a.m. Sunday.

Sheboygan Co. Emergency Communication Center says they got a 911 call reporting a barn fire at N9570 Turba Ct in the Town of Russell.

According to the Sheboygan Co. Sheriff's Office, the barn contained wood working equipment along with a cow and calf. Neither animal made it out alive.

The barn was a total loss.

The fire is still under investigation with the Sheboygan Co. Fire Investigation Team.

Over 15 fire departments responded to the barn, including St. Anna Fire Department, New Holstein Fire Department, Elkhart Lake Fire Department, Kiel Fire Department, Stockbridge Fire Department, Hilbert Fire Department, Potter Fire Department, St. Cloud Fire Department, Mt. Calvary Fire Department, Greenbush Fire Department, Forest Junction Fire Department, St. Nazianz Fire Department, Harrison Fire Department, Brillion Fire Department, Eden Fire Department, and Chilton Fire Department.
