OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (NBC 26) -- The Outagamie County Clerk of Circuit Courts office is suspending the processing of passport applications due to COVID-19.

According to a news release from the clerk, the suspension is until further notice.

A statement on the State Department's website said some passport application acceptance facilities still remain closed or may be providing limited service due to public health measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

This follows a similar announcement in Brown County back in July. While not suspending applications, Brown County officials have warned applicants of a backlog due to COVID-19.
