OUTAGAMIE COUNTY (NBC 26) -- A 61-year-old inmate died Sunday after experiencing a medical emergency at the Outagamie County Jail, the Sheriff's Office says.
The Outagamie County Sheriff's Office said the inmate had been in the jail since June 26. The male inmate, who was not identified in a news release from the Sheriff's Office, experienced a medical emergency Friday.
The Sheriff's Office said correctional and medical staff began life savings measures including CPR. The inmate was transferred to a hospital where he died on Sunday.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the man was serving a sentence for Burglary-Building or Dwelling, Criminal Damage to Property and Theft-Moveable Property.
The Sheriff's Office said there is no indication this death is related to COVID-19.
