Oshkosh Police search for man with warrant for child sex assault

OSHKOSH, Wis. — Oshkosh Police are searching for a man who has a warrant for 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, according to a news release from the police department. Police have shared a picture of Andrew M. Hildebrand to the public as a part of the search.

Police first interviewed Hildebrand on May 12 about a sexual assault investigation that occurred in the 800 Block of Cherry Street in Oshkosh. Later that night, police say Hildebrand was reported missing.

Two days later, police say Andrew’s vehicle was found in Fond du Lac County by the boat launch for Auburn Lake. Fond du Lac Sheriff's Department conducted a ground and aerial search of the area, but they couldn't find him.

According to Oshkosh Police, Hildebrand is familiar with the Kettle Moraine State Forest area and is believed to have a .22 Rifle. Police say Hildebrand has not made any threats to harm the public.
