OSHKOSH (NBC 26) — Everyone is all right after a 35-year-old man was accused of threatening people with a gun inside an Oshkosh home early Monday morning.

Oshkosh Police blocked traffic along South Main Street after they were notified about the disturbance.

Authorities say the man was pointing a gun at people and threatening to shoot them.

Several people, including children, were able to escape.

SWAT officers were then able to go inside the home and search for a two-year-old child.

Once the child was removed, officers found the 35-year-old man hiding under blankets on his stomach on a mattress with a loaded handgun underneath him.

He was taken into custody, and another child was found inside the home unharmed.

Police say the 35-year-old man had an outstanding warrant and will likely face more charges.

Police are encouraging people to avoid the 900 block to the 1300 block of South Main Street due to an ongoing police incident.
