Despite the pandemic, some groups say people's giving spirit hasn't gone away.
Operation Christmas Child started Monday, with more than 4,000 drop-off sites open accepting shoebox gifts for kids in need.
The project partners with local churches to deliver the gifts.
"We've already surpassed our first day goal with 1800. You know, you think 'it's a COVID year' and how crazy it is, but people still want to give. People still want to do good things. We're just really excited that it's been a great turnout already," said Central Drop Off Leader Michelle Blackman
The project wraps up on November 23rd.
