The Oneida Nation has extended the Public Health State of Emergency Declaration and issued a new Stay Safer at Home declaration which is effective until July 12.

The Oneida Nation had previously had a Safer at Home declaration effective through June 11.

The new Safer at Home Declaration has been issued as part of the community's ongoing response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Oneida Nation said in a statement that the new declaration does loosen some restrictions. Businesses are allowed to operate, but must follow health guidelines. Public parks and open space are reopened.

The Oneida Nation has closed other places, such as public libraries, and has placed a ban on large gatherings.
