FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Fond du Lac Fire says one person died after being rescued from a house fire on Sunday.
Firefighters responded to reports of smoke coming out of a house on Sunday afternoon around 1:13 p.m. When firefighters arrived at the scene, Fond du Lac Fire says crews encountered heavy smoke on the first floor. The house had substantial damage before firefighters were able to put the fire out.
Fond du Lac Fire says crews pulled a person from the home and attempted to revive her. She was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced dead after arrival.
The victim has not yet been identified. The cause of the fire has been ruled undetermined.
