OCONTO COUNTY, Wis. — One man is killed and another man is injured in two separate accidents related to storm cleanup in Oconto County.
According to Lieutenant Brad Paitl from the Oconto County Sheriff's Department, a man in the town of Townsend was cleaning up trees and debris left behind from the storm around 10:15 pm on Friday.
He was attempting to cut down trees near his vacation cottage or cabin when he was injured. The man was taken to an area hospital where he died from his injuries.
Investigators are not releasing the victim's name or any other details of the incident but say his death is being investigated as an accident.
Another man was injured in Oconto County while attempting to cut down trees on his property on Saturday afternoon in the town of Lakewood.
Lt Paitl says the man suffered injuries to his leg and arm.
The Oconto County Sheriff's Department has not released the victim's name or his condition.
He is currently being treated at an area hospital.
