DODGE CO. (NBC 26) — Officers reported a fatal two vehicle crash that sent two people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office said the crash happened on County Highway T south of County Highway TT in the Town of Elba.
According to officers, an SUV was traveling northbound on Cth T when a passenger car rapidly approached the rear of the SUV. The passenger car attempted to pass the SUV on the left but the two vehicles crashed into each other.
Officers said the passenger car went off the roadway on the left/west side and overturned, ejecting the driver. The SUV went off the roadway on the right/east side and overturned.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the passenger car was driven by a male from Madison who died on scene. The SUV was driven by a male with a female passenger, both from Burnett, who each sustained non-life threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The crash is still under investigation. No further information has been released at this time.
