One dead in officer-involved shooting in Green Bay

GREEN BAY (NBC 26) - One person is dead after a shooting with Green Bay Police Saturday morning.

The Wisconsin State Department of Justice (DCI) said it happened on the 2800 block of University Avenue.

Officers were called to the scene for a report of shots fired. When they got there, they saw a person discharge a firearm toward another individual. During the incident, officers discharged their weapons toward the person with the firearm. That person died from gunshot injuries.

The officers involved have been placed on administrative leave per department policy. No one else was hurt during the shooting.

DCI is leading the investigation and it will be turned over to the Brown County District Attorney when it's completed.

No other details have been released.
