VILLAGE OF LITTLE CHUTE — The car communication and security service OnStar was able to help law enforcement stop a car theft out of Little Chute, according to the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office said a Buick Verano was reported stolen around 7 a.m. Wednesday from the Village of Little Chute. Officers were able to track down the vehicle through the help of OnStar, the Sheriff's Office said, in the area of Interstate 41 and County Road U in the Town of Kaukauna.

When the vehicle sped away as officers were trying to stop it, the Sheriff's Office credits OnStar with disabling the vehicle. The stolen vehicle turned off of County Road U and eventually stopped in the playground area at the Apple Creek Campground in the Town of Wrightstown.

The Sheriff's Office said the suspect was 17 years old and was taken into custody. No one was hurt.
