MENASHA, Wis. — A Neenah police officer was found to be justified in his use of deadly force when he shot and killed a man in Menasha.
On June 25th officers attempted to issue a search warrant to 43-year-old Shawn Blowers of Menasha regarding an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The Department of Justice says Blowers confronted officers with a knife, shouting threatening remarks and lunged at several officers.
According to reports, officer Gorden shot Blowers twice, knocking him to the ground.
Blowers was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Winnebago County District Attorney's office says no charges will be filed against officer Christopher Gorden in his use of deadly force.
Officer Gorden was placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
