OCONTO (NBC 26) — The Oconto Fire Chief is working to learn why a house caught fire.
First responders were called to a home in the 6000 block of Cream City Road in the Town of Oconto this morning at approximately 12:30, according to a news release.
The Oconto Fire-Rescue Department said a two-story home started to collapse prior to first responders arriving to the scene.
Firefighters said that there was nobody in the home and everyone was accounted for. No firefighters were injured.
Firefighters said fire departments from Oconto, Oconto Falls, Pensaukee, and Little River responded to the scene. Two Oconto County Sheriff's deputies, Oconto Electric, and Duame Sand and Gravel also assisted, the release said.
The fire department said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
