OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh (UWO) said it was one of several schools across the country that was threatened Thursday night.

UWO said between 10:30pm and 10:41pm Thursday, the UWO Police Department dispatch center received multiple calls from multiple phone numbers. According to a news release from UWO, the caller had a distorted voice and referred to "nail bombs" on "campus," but did not specifically reference UW Oshkosh.

UWO said police brought in a bomb dog to check campus buildings. Police also worked with Fond du Lac and Menasha police departments to check campuses in those communities.

No bombs were found and authorities didn't detect any suspicious activity. The incident is still being investigated.
