APPLETON — The final day of the Mile of Music festival was filled with a lot of despair following two massive shootings across the U.S.
"Its insane," said Al Moore, a member of the band Joshua and the Holy Rollers. "The fact that it keeps happening and there isn't policy change is really a detriment to all of our emotional states."
Across College Avenue, there were security guards on nearly ever corner where a band was playing. However, many say these shootings should not happen in the first place.
"When you buy a ticket to a concert, when you make a reservation for dinner, or when you take you kid to see a play, you shouldn't have to worry about these things."
In the midst of a dark time, people in Appleton say the best thing to do is stay uplifted.
"Its just a tragedy," said James Daniels from the band Chestnut Grove. "You have to just try and keep a positive attitude."
