"From our attendance each year, more than 70 percent of it comes from outside Wisconsin, so that's a lot of new money for Wisconsin. And we know for the Fox Valley, it means $170 million in economic impact each year," said Dick Knapinski, the director of communications for EAA.
Knapinski added that there are thousands of people around the world who want to be part of EAA AirVenture but might not be able to catch a flight.
"This way, it's a direct flight," said Knapinski.
This year is the 50th anniversary of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.
"We have everything from opening night concert announcement coming up very soon, to some of the airplanes coming in, to tributes to World War II, of course, the 7th anniversary of D-Day," said Knapinski.
EAA AirVenture is July 22-28 this year.
