MILWAUKEE -- No charges will be filed in a hit-and-run crash that injured a family of four near Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee, the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office says.
The case is not provable and therefore no charges will be brought, the office said in an email to TODAY'S TMJ4.
The Eager family, from Hartford, was planning on attending a performance of Jurassic World at Fiserv Forum in early November when a vehicle crashed into them at 6th and Juneau. All four were hurt, and their 5-year-old Dayton was knocked unconscious.
"You almost killed my children, you almost killed me, we're a good family, all we wanted to do was do something fun with our family, and this happens," Danielle Eager said. "And the fact that these guys are getting away scot-free is what really really irritates me."
Eager's husband and kids, 5-year-old Dayton and 8-year-old Brayson, have recovered physically. Eager says her kids are still scared around any traffic.
"I understand nobody passed away, but a kid that young seeing what they saw and been through what they did, that's not something that just goes away overnight," Eager said.
Two people were arrested for the incident just days after.
“He drove off with me on the hood of the car” says Eager . "I had crawled probably 15 to 20 feet over to him to see what was going on and I honestly thought he was dead."
Tony Eager was focused on getting as much information about the runaway driver as he could.
"The first thing I could think of was get the plate get the plate… I just kept yelling out KCV KCV KCV," says Tony.
