Listen up, stargazers. The next chance to see the northern lights in our state is sooner than you may have thought.
The Space Weather Prediction Center is reporting three Geomagnetic Storm Watches for Friday through Sunday.
The best chance to see the dancing lights in the sky is Saturday when a G2 Storm Watch will be in effect. A G2 is a moderate storm.
A G1 (minor) Storm Watch is predicted for Friday and Sunday.
For the best chance of seeing the lights, head to an area outside of the city where light pollution isn't an issue. Viewing opportunities are also dependent on whether or not there are rain showers and thunderstorms, so fingers crossed for a dry weekend!
