New Year's Eve events for kids and adults in Northeast Wisconsin

NORTHEASTERN WISCONSIN (NBC 26) -- For New Year's Eve many places in northeastern Wisconsin are hosting family-friendly events during the day for kids and adults to participate in for free.

New Year's Writing Resolutions hosted by author Basptiste Paul and author/literary agent Miranda Paul will help kids with their writing into the new year. This writing event is at 4177 Juddville Road in Fish Creek, WI from 10 a.m. until noon. Organizers say if people want to bring a dish to pass they'll hold a potluck after the event.

Oshkosh Public Library is hosting a Noon Year's Eve Celebration for kids and adults to celebrate the new year before nap time! The celebration will be under the library's dome from 11:15 a.m. until noon. Organizers say Sound Sensations, an Appleton Elementary School DJ, will play family-friendly music and have fun activities between songs. The library will also have a photo booth to capture the fun!

The Neville Public Museum in Green Bay will be open for people to explore the exhibits from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Their current exhibits include Guns, Gowns, and Holiday Memories. Horse drawn wagon rides will be available from there at 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The museum says you can also see fireworks from their mezzanine window around 9 p.m.

The 3rd annual Lodge Cherry Drop and New Year's Eve Celebration in Sister Bay will have an early show of fireworks before continuing the party into the early hours of New Year's Day. Organizers at that event say Sister Bay will celebrate New Year's Eve with a shopping extravaganza throughout the village, ice skating and bonfire at the Sports Complex, and dining specials in the evening. Fireworks can be seen from the Sports Complex at 8 p.m.

They will continue the party for adults starting at 10:30 p.m. and go until 1 a.m. New Year's Day. They will countdown to midnight and drop a roughly 300 pound giant sparking cherry to bring in the New Year.
