NEW LONDON, WIs. (NBC 26) -- There have been colorful and creative collaborations going up across New London. The murals are part of the "Start Art Mural Project."

The town has been planning and fundraising for the project for more than a year. There are 25 local artists involved with the project.

Now, this huge gallery has transformed the town amid the pandemic. With pieces popping up on businesses such as restaurants, salons, and banks!

The paintings are serving as more than just art. They have become Murals of Hope.

"The mural ideas the community has know about them but they have all been sort of a secret, so they're popping up randomly, and everybody is very, very excited. Not only our community, but the artists, the Wolf River Art League, and this is truly a blessing to our community and anybody that comes to visit our community in New London," said Season Polsin who leads the project.

There are currently 40 murals and counting. Look for them on these businesses:

  • Hilker Warehousing
  • Hilbys Bar & Restaurant
  • The Pad
  • Robins Nest
  • Longevity
  • Lynn Tank Agency
  • Luaders Law Office
