New details are coming out about the expansion of State Highway 15 in Outagamie County.
Governor Evers announced Thursday that construction will begin in September of 2021. The project is designed to increase safety by expanding 11 miles of Highway 15 to a four-lane, divided highway.
It's a busy route for commuters between New London and the fox cities area. Roundabouts are also planned in two locations, one on each side of Hortonville.
"We're looking forward to it certainly and we've worked with the community a really long time on this project, looking forward to bringing this to construction and through completion,” says Project Manager Bill Bertrand. “I think the community is going to have a safety improvement they can be very proud of looking forward.”
The estimated cost of the project is $138.7 million. It's expected to be completed by 2024.
