NEENAH (NBC 26) — The Rotary Club of Neenah announced its first ever 5K/Scavenger Hunt event, sponsored by Alta Resources, will be open from March 1 through April 2.

The event, open to runners and walkers, will be “self-guided". Participants can run or walk a 5K (3.1 miles) anywhere they choose, but there’s also a suggested route that features downtown Neenah. Proceeds of the fundraiser will support a variety of Neenah community charitable efforts.

“The pandemic prevented our club from having its annual golf outing and Uncorked & Uncapped events this past year, so we decided to create an event that would get people outdoors in a safe and family friendly manner, ideally bringing more people to our wonderful downtown,” said Rotary Club of Neenah President Kristopher Ulrich. “The Scavenger Hunt portion of this unique event is simply that runners and walkers will be encouraged to take selfies in front of participating businesses on the Neenah route. Anyone who posts a selfie on Facebook with #NeenahRotary5K2021 will be eligible for the random drawings for gift cards.”

The cost to register is $20 per individual or family.
