ASHWAUBENON, Wis — NBC26's newest member of the sports department just tackled his first day at a new job on top of experiencing his first ever, snowfall. Chancellor Johnson, a Houston, Texas native, just arrived in Green Bay last week and was just beginning to appreciate our fall weather, until the snow hit on Monday evening.
Johnson says there is a number of things he's not ready for in terms of Wisconsin winters, like below zero temperatures, walking on a frozen lake for an ice fishing story, or even scrapping off his car after it's covered in snow. But, one thing he says he will be preparing for is covering the Packers later in the season, once winter truly kicks in.
"I fully expect to cover the Packers and their deep playoff runs so that will be into the later part of the winter and I have to get ready for that."
Johnson, being a Houston native, has a laundry list of items he has buy to get prepared for his first winter ever. At the top of his to-do list though , once we get some real snow, is to throw his first snowball, build his first snowman and send photo's back to his family in Texas to show them what living in Wisconsin is truly like.
