NEENAH, Wis. (NBC26) -- February is American Heart Month for the American Heart Association. To celebrate and spread awareness the Go Red for Women campaign encourages everyone to wear red on Friday, February 7th.

According to the American Heart Association cardiovascular disease kills one woman every 80 seconds and takes more lives than all forms of cancer combined. Heart disease and stroke also impacts the lives of one in three women.

Experts say 80% of cardiovascular diseases can be prevented through small changes to diet and lifestyle, but a gap in care for women's heart and brain health continue to exist.
