TOWN OF RED SPRING, Wis. — More than 30 animals perished after an early morning barn fire in the Town of Red Spring.
The fire broke out just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, according to a Shawano County Sheriff's Office news release. When deputies arrived on scene, the barn was completely engulfed in flames.
The owner told authorities that there were 30 cows, 6 horses, some chickens, cats and dogs that were in the barn at the time of the fire.
The Sheriff's Office says the barn is a total loss. Authorities don't know what caused the fire, but they do say it doesn't appear to be suspicious at this time.
