Mishicot police arrest 14-year-old boy in connection to shooting

MISHICOT (NBC 26) — Law enforcement said they arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection to a shooting that happened November 23 around 4:30 a.m.

The Mishicot Police Department said the shooting happened at Ridge Road and West Church Street. Police said they investigated a suspicious unoccupied car in the area. They found evidence of shots fired into the vehicle.

While police were conducting an initial investigation, deputies reported a 22-year-old Sheboygan man arrived at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

The Manitowoc County Sheriff's Office confirmed the shooting happened within the village of Mishicot. Upon further investigation, it was determined a juvenile from the village of Mishicot was involved.

Police said they arrested a 14-year-old Mishicot boy on December 2. He is being held at the Sheboygan Co. Juvenile Detention Center pending his initial appearance for weapons violations.

Law enforcement said this was an isolated incident and the public is not in danger.
